Where Was I? Oh Yes..

So There I was reminiscing about all the things we have done since we moved to Vancouver and I realized, there is so much I haven't shared with you! Alas that can not be! In other words, get comfortable, this may take a while... To begin: here is a video of our version of soccer.

Isn't it hilarious? Then Lizzy has been asking for an umbrella for months now, but at $10 to $20 a pop there was no way I was going to get her one. That was until I found them on Oriental Trading Company where for $15 I got 6. Hmm I can handle that! Lizzy was excited to decorate her umbrella.

I think it turned out quite cute. Then we went to the library and this time I took pictures! Behold: This is only half of the area, but by this time a little girl had hit Lizzy and we were ready to go. We went to the park at the Vancouver Fort. It was crawling with school kids when we arrived, but they left soon after. We were ready to leave by the time the second wave came. That was nice.
Then we had an emergency as Charles' blood blister burst and refused to be stemmed. We took him into the prompt care and waited for over an hour before he could be seen. Apparently there were a lot of bleeders there. The doctor had to keep stitching people up! At long last he was seen and Lizzy had to leave because she was freaking out. Charles did well and he only needed one stitch! Next crisis was with our renter. Long story, bad ending, any way we had to go to Bremerton to evict her and while we were there we visited the family. Papa made balloons for everyone!    Notice Charles' huge bandage? That was a pain.
So on to happier news! St. Patrick's Day! One of the best days of the year and we started it off right by going to Kells' Irish Festival in Portland. I enjoyed the dancers and bagpipes. Lizzy enjoyed the train ride. We took the light rail in. Here's a video of some dancers!

We checked out the farmers/ street market too. I have never seen so many booths selling things for pets. Like organic dog biscuits. Strange, but fun. The music was grand. We even got a glimpse of the famous Voodoo Doughnuts! Also there is a few pictures of a shirt I turned into a skirt for Lizzy. She likes it. I was quite productive finishing a few sewing projects that had been left undone. Here's Charles looking particularly Dapper in his new green suit.

And since this is getting pretty long, and everyone else has gone to bed, I think that I will sign off. Till next time! Stay Tuned, over and out.

Charles the Man

This past month I have had some pretty amazing encounters with Charles. At 15 months he is well on his way of proving his manhood! For example: he found a shard of glass in his room so what does he do with it? He pops it in his mouth and chews on it until Grandma notices it and gets it removed. Very Manly. Then, when Dad wasn't looking he stole his tools and replaced them with his own toy tools. And finally to secure his independence he decided to quit nursing cold turkey. The last one was particularly hard for me. I was not prepared when he turned away mid-nurse and refused to continue. Oh well, we were weening anyway, he just decided to get it over with a little earlier then I. I am eagerly waiting the next manly development! Click on the video below to catch him in action.

From Leap Day
PS: just yesterday Charles climbed up in a chair and when Daniel sat down in the other chair he nonchalantly said, I kid you not, "Hey Dad." To which Daniel replied, just as nonchalantly, "Hey Charles." After which Charles neatly removed his diaper without removing his pants. Because that's how we roll.

Moving Target

On our last day in Bremerton we went to the Lowe's build and grow workshop and then Jessica and the gang came over to say goodbye. We had a nice visit and then Daniel took off with the truck. We stayed and chatted and then the girls got held up Grandma style!

We took a few pictures and then we headed down to our new abode in Vancouver. Lizzy tells everyone that we moved to "Couver." It only took us a few days to make it livable. I think we are getting good at this! Here's a video tour of our new place:

So we are starting our new adventures in Vancouver. So far its been nice, the ward is very friendly and the library is amazing. I am excited to discover more!

Clowning Around

The Fred Myers near my Parents just put in a gas station and we went to their opening extravaganza! Not only was the gas discounted, but they had brought in a pair of clowns from Bellingham to make balloons and do face painting. Lizzy asked for a cat on her face and she was so good at holding still for Zigzag, the clown.

Then the other clown did balloons. I liked his air pump:

Dress Re-fashion

I have pinned ton of t-shirt dresses on Pinterest, so I finally made one for Lizzy. I liked how it turned out. The shirt was a heavier knit so it was a little difficult to sew, but not too hard. It just made me want a serger even more. Alas. Anyway, here is the finished project, I made the arm holes a tad too big so I fixed that later.

Luckily Lizzy loves it. It reminds me a little of a  Romulan outfit, but I like it!

Baptisms and Blessings

From 2012-01-28 Taylor's Baptism
Saturday we were able to witness Taylor's baptism. I love going to baptisms. I was grateful that my children were able to see their cousin get baptised. Lizzy is so excited about being baptized that she mentions it almost everyday. She knows that she has 5 more years to go, but she is so excited! It makes me smile. Then on Sunday my nephew received a name and a blessing in sacrament meeting.

Isn't he the cutest? Daniel was able to stand in the circle while Rex performed the blessing. It was very special. Afterwards we had to rush home so Daniel could leave for Vancouver. I always hate it when he leaves for long periods, but that's where we are at right now. Hopefully he'll be back next weekend! This weekend was wonderful!

Winter Fun

We finally had some snow and I took the kids out to enjoy it. Lizzy was disappointed that her snow balls fell apart, but they both had fun.

Districts

Over Valentine's weekend, Lizzy had Districts. Daniel and I went to cheer her on Friday night. She won her first bout and then bro...
