While the Cat's Away

The kids started the fun off with bubbles. Then, while Brandy was napping, I had the kids paint their cookies; the elementary school had a fundraiser with these sugar cookies that had color on them. You got them wet and painted your cookie with them. It sort of worked; the colors were a bit muddy and light. They enjoyed it, though.

Lizzy took on her brothers.

The next day, we went to the Fire and Ice exhibit at Crown Center. Parking was interesting, since we had the big van to accommodate us all. None of the parking garages would fit us. We found a space in the Union Station parking lot. It was a nice little walk, then we saw dinosaurs!

Devon braved the Lava!

Devon also stole the dino eggs, while Charles made some friends.

While we waited for everyone to finish up, I took Henry and Teddy up the escalator, where our senses were assaulted by the aroma of chocolate! There is a fudge factory. We saw them pour some fudge, then mosied inside for a looksee. They had Chocolate oranges, so I bought some. Jess got some fudge to try.

Then we de-escalated to join the queue for Fritz for lunch. We had to split up into 2 groups, but it was a real treat. The trains bring you your order. When the older kids mentioned going to Fritz's at school, everyone exclaimed that that was their childhood.

Brandy liked talking to our neighbors. It was packed!

A short walk back, and we headed home. Lizzy had practice, and Charles had Pt. Jess accompanied me to Aldi's to pick up a few things while Charles did his exercises.

We had a fun day.
