Spring Break

I love Mr. T! He gets right to the point, don't you think? In April we did some fun things, the boys had a blast playing with cardboard.

Henry took up trick riding!

I had been gathering materials for Yuri's night since last year, We had space art projects that I let the kids pick between, or they could do all of them. Lizzy and Devon did the wooden hangers and the others made a James Webb telescope replica.

We had space food: starbursts, milky ways, and moon pies.
Watching Wall-E to finish off the day.

If it doesn't snow a freak snowstorm, is it really spring?

Henry wanted to show off his blue tongue.

Charles, Devon, and Emily got cast in a community play, Heidi. Here they are practicing. They are goats and Devon is a goatherd.

We tried out a new restaurant. Cafe Genevive's. The cinnamon rolls were good and Lizzy liked their scones. The hot chocolate was weak sauce, but I like my hot chocolate thick!

Then we headed to our old stomping grounds, Felida Park! We were meeting up with our friends later.

Next, we went to The Jungle and played with Jessica Thurman and her kids.

It was fun catching up and the kids had a blast.

Charles studied Celio Falls in school, but because of covid his class couldn't tour the long house, So we made the trek out there. Unfortunately, it was all locked up, but it was interesting.

We visited the park too, there were lots of signs telling about the Native tribe and how they used to fish here. It was so windy that the kids couldn't stand it for long.

Lastly, we went to Spooky's for lunch. Spooky's is a weird restaurant. It's an institution in The Dalles. They have an arcade, and sunken fire pit, and lots of taxidermied animals. The pizza was good, but the hamburger sauce had allspice or something in it that threw off the kids.

I don't think we will be returning, but it was an adventure!

The Feb FoE exchange was nature-themed and this is what I received, My exchange partner grew up on the East coast and collected sea glass for years, she put it together for me with a picture of the beach she used to live by. It's beautiful and I think I will put it up in the downstairs bathroom because it's kind of beach themed.

Devon kindly made me a sign.
Enjoying the sun while we can!

Teddy did not like the trampoline very much.

Emily got to meet some new friends at school.
