Lizzy headed to State this year with 4 other qualifiers. Daniel, Teddy, Lizzy's friend Rosilee, and I went up on Friday to cheer her on.
Rosealie had brought her a candy bouquet as well as a real one.
Lizzy was excited and ready.
Both our girls won their first matches. Look how pleased Lizzy is.
After her match, Lizzy was caught in her opponent's legs. She tapped her to get her to let go; unfortunately, her opponent had blacked out. Luckily, Lizzy's knowledge from watching the Pitt and her quick thinking revived her by rubbing her sternum. The medic was impressed with her.
They had to take her out on a stretcher.
That was the end of the first day. Her old coach came to cheer them on.
On Saturday, Emily and Charles joined us in the cheering.
We stopped for lunch at Murray's, a jazz restaurant with a great grilled cheese. I mean, look at this cheese pull!
This was parked outside.
Lizzy ended up taking 6th place! We are so proud of her!

We had 4 state winners, JP took first, Aubry and Arron took 5th.
It was a great weekend, and we are so proud of her accomplishments.
