Gearing up to Move

Our home has been receiving offers to buy it monthly since we first moved in. We knew it's prime property and didn't think it would be hard to sell, even with its issues. Even so, there is always that nagging doubt that it will take forever to sell. We decided to use a neighbor as our realtor to sell and I'm so glad we did! Jeff was an absolute gem! He made the process so easy and helped out in so many ways. He lent us his trailer to put junk in and he took it to the dump several times. He was amazing! Our home had an offer before we went online to post it. Unfortunately, that offer fell through, but not long thereafter we had another offer. So while we worked out the details, we got to work clearing out the house. We realized that we would have to be out of there before we had a new house to move into so we gratefully accepted my parent's offer to live with them for a month or so.

A big thing that had to be taken care of was our chickens and bees. We didn't want to transport them and didn't have anywhere to put them anyway. I was not sure anyone would want our birds, they were all over 2 years old and 14 of them! I put a post on Facebook anyway, hoping someone might take some of them. Luckily a friend of mine who had moved into their new home was just getting a chicken run set up and she willingly took all my ladies. We boxed most of them up without any trouble, but the last one took all of us to track down and add to the box. My last goodbye:

They settled in quite nicely I hear and I was so grateful. The bees were even easier, our champion realtor came to our rescue again!  He took them off our hands. Since Daniel had been commuting back and forth from Goldendale we got a storage unit and Daniel would slowly ferry our belongings there each Sunday. It was hard having him gone all week, but we knew it wouldn't be forever. We made sure to celebrate our time together.

Since we needed a bigger storage unit, we got one in Felida and filled it up! Luckily we had some helpers.
