Hike

While at the store recently, the cashier mentioned a fun family-friendly hike nearby. So on a bright Saturday, we set out to discover Horse Thief Butte. It was an easy 30 min. drive and pretty easy to walk around.

The kids did great, Henry did not want to come home. It was a very easy hike, which I was grateful for. There are lots of other hiking trails near here so I am sure we will be returning to discover more soon!

Random Goodness

Goldendale really lives up to its name. We have plenty of golden afternoons so here a smattering of pictures of how we enjoy them.

Easter

Easter was smaller this year, obviously, no one was doing anything big with COVID running rampant. We were also far removed from my methodist friends so we made do at home. On Sat in between sessions of General Conference, we had a little Easter egg hunt. We dyed a billion eggs, the kids had a blast.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that Lizzy set up an archery range for a school project. Here the girls are enjoying it.

Speaking of enjoying things...

Happy Little Clouds

Recently I had been asked to help out with the Young Women's group at church a few times. They were missing a counselor and I was happy to help out. One of the actrivites was painting to Bob Ross. It was fun, but Bob goes a little fast for most of the kids to follow. Later Henry did his own painting.  All of my kids are very artistic. It's fun to see them experiment and develop.

I bet you can't guess his favorite color!

When I'm 65...

The Beatles have a song, "When I'm 64" well, this year we celebrated my Dad turning 65! It was fun to get together and celebrate. We had a taent show where the kids out did themselves and Jessica gave a tearjerking tribute. Mom made Dad's favorite German Chocolate Cake and we all laughed a lot. Really it was a perfect way to celebrate my Dad.

So Long Car

Remember how I said we had had car trouble? Well, we donated our nonworking Quest to a company. They came to remove it and it was quite the spectacle.

So long Quest! You were a true friend and companion of many adventures. It died at the right time. Just when we were poised to outgrow it. It was nice not to have to deal with disposal. We waved it off to its new home.

St. Patrick's Day

This year only Devon made a leprechaun trap. He designed it and made it himself. Unfortunately due to a cold, he was unable to bring it to school and participate with his classmates. COVID strikes again! All the kids had to be home for 10 days because they had colds. oh well.

The leprechaun did leave some tasty treats though!

Something Spooky This Way Comes

We started October with a trip to Home Depot. The kids made witch boxes. Charles used the extra pieces to make an homage to Darkwing Du...
