Washington to Washington Day 1-2

On June 23 we headed to Chubbuck Idaho to stay with some friends. It's an 8.5-hour drive, I tried to limit our driving to under 9 hours and mostly succeded. When we arrived the kids walked to the park and I caught up with my friend. She made some amazing tacos for us. The kids had fun except for a brief altercation with a friend visiting the neighbor. She got mad at Devon, and would not accept his apology all the while demanding one. I told her friends that she obviously didn't want his apology and so that was it. Devon was understandably upset but soon calmed down. The rest of the evening they played games and then we went to bed.

Our first stop was the world's first nuclear power plant. This is great for kids since they let you touch everything and run a simulation fixing the plant. The kids got their first stamp in their journals here.

From there we went on to the Craters of the Moon National Park for our second stamp.

It was so beautiful.

Selfies are hard Ya'll
There was still some ice down this crater.

After our time on the moon, we headed to Montana and drove through Henry Lake. Unfortunately, Henry was asleep during our time in Henry Lake so he didn't get to bask in it.

We set up camp in my first KOA experience. It was fun. There was a creek right by us and several of the kids got drenched, fortunately, they had laundry facilities, and delivered pizza! I had not planned on doing laundry so early on our trip, but that's how it goes sometimes. Our new mattress was like a foot taller than our old one. It made for some interesting times. We stayed for 2 nights while we went to Yellowstone to explore.
