It's Gonna Be May

We have a lot to celebrate in the month of MAY.  First off,
May the Fourth be with you! We started with some Leia buns.

I got FoE mail from New Zealand!

And of course, we had Sarlacc Cake! It's a favorite.

Next we had Cinco de Mayo! At school, Lizzy got to help the first graders plant their Mother's day Plants in the greenhouse.

We celebrated with tacos and a pinata, which we hung off the deck this year so Daniel didn't have to hold it.

The next day Lizzy worked at the plant sale. It's the biggest fundraiser the FFA does all year. We picked up some fun plants.

Lizzy was going to the FFA State competition. She wanted me to go with her since it was a four-day trip in tri-cities, I asked Mom if she would be willing to come up for it. Then in a stroke of inspiration, I asked Lizzy if she wouldn't mind Mom going with her instead, as Mom is a wonderful cheerleader and I could keep up with the other kids at home. She was excited about that idea so I asked Mom and she agreed. I got her all the paperwork and then Mom and Dad came up. Dad stayed the week with us so that was extra fun.

One day we went for breakfast at the new Bake My Day. It was yummy!

I got these sombreros from Round Two, a second-hand store in town, and we had to try them on.

Here Lizzy's team is practicing for their presentation. I had Lizzy ask for donations from the stores downtown to help her get to state. It was a definite growing experience for her. I'm so glad the FFA gives her these opportunities.
These are pics from State!

Peek-a-boo!

Dad got to go with Daniel, Me, and Charles for his first temple trip. My good friend in Vancouver watched the rest of the kids so we could go. We took Charles to the Olive Garden for lunch.

It was a beautiful day!

I forgot my phone in the car, so these pics are courtesy of Papa.

Back home!

We got Papa a gingerbread camper, for Christmas and he saved it to make with the kids.

I think it turned out great!

We had a neighbor shoot one of the wild turkeys out back!
I zoomed way in, but it's hard to see the turkey. Country living man!
