Cinco De Mayo

We had to celebrate, you know how I am about that. So even though May is the worst month in the year for us since Daniel has to work 70 plus hours a week, I had to celebrate! We had Tacos, or as Lizzy calls them, " the stuff where you put stuff in tortillas." and then I brought out the Big guns:
Sorry the pictures are so bad, but it does give it a kind of old timey effect I think.

Daniel had to break it, these store bought pinatas are tough! Then the hoarding of candy began!

I'd say a good time was had by all!

Then Lizzy invited me to a Muffins for Mom event in her class. It was sweet, Lizzy took my muffin order and asked me why I hadn't brought a drink. (Most of the Moms had coffee) We sat in their chairs at their tables where they had made a place mat for us and then after eating we had  a few stations that we could go to. We made a tissue paper flower and Lizzy drew a picture of us and gave me a hand massage.  The kids sang us a song too!

Easter

So Easter. We did what is, I hope, our tradition of going to the Mason's breakfast and egg hunt. We went last year and it was a blast! This year we went with confidence, we went later so that the kids didn't have to wait so long before the hunt began. We saw the Easter Bunny. It was pointed out repeatedly that he was wearing shoes.(Thanks random girl who notices, now Lizzy can't stop telling me)

Then we went to the Life of Christ event. The Stake puts it on. It takes months of work and coordination. There are Choirs and vingettes and live actors doing reenactments from Jesus' life. I didn't get any pictures of the exhibit, but it was beautiful. The link has a few pictures you can peruse. I was a helper in the children's room on Sat night. I got to tell stories from the life of Jesus. It was really fun.

Here Charles is building a temple. I want a set of these blocks. The angel Moroni  is so cool!

Then we colored Easter eggs. I wasn't sure how they would turn out with the brown eggs, but they looked pretty good if I do say so myself.

They tasted good too!

Updates

So I'm a slacker and it's already Cinco De Mayo so I'll rehash briefly the highlights of the past few months. First Devon had several bloody noses, and tried his first chicken leg.

We had fun at the Library.

And with the Cousins:

Lizzy lost her tooth.

and made some wings:

Painted boxes

Went to the tulip festival in Woodland.

Got some bees. I got stung.

Played some catch.

I got to sewing again after a year hiatus.

Played dress-up.

Yup, That's basically it. For Now...Dramatic music.....

Saint Patrick's Day!

Did you let your green show? I love St. Paddy's Day. My Irish heritage has always been kind of a big deal for me and after Halloween, Saint's Patrick's day is my favorite holiday. So naturally I had to drag my family to a community event! Bwahhahahahaaa...Ahem. Yes, Moving on..here we are. A nice picture of Lizzy learning a new dance.

She had a blast dancing on the stage. Devon ran across it a few times. Charles had to warm up to the idea a bit (it was near nap time). They practiced their martial arts skills and planted flowers and just had a blast. Oh when we got there each child was given a real gold dollar. I was shocked. I should mention where we went, http://www.shortysgardenandhome.com/ Shorty's nursery.
Then we went home to celebrate. I made up the table and got the corned beef going.
The kids played:

I don't know if you can tell, but Charles is having a personal tea party. Yup, I'm cool with that.

Evel Knievel

Daniel told me that there was an Evel Knievel  Museum  in  Topeka, KS, but it was being relocated to Las Vegas in a month. I had to go ...
