Winter is Coming

     We got our first snowfall today. It was about an inch, but enough to pull out the snow stuff. It was mostly melted by the afternoon. Were back up in the 50s this week. The weather is so strange!

Charles Turns 13

     I had asked Charles what he wanted to do for his birthday, and after much thought, he decided to do a Dr Who birthday. We did a Find the Doctor game and I took the kids to Waffle House for a late lunch.

Later the kids colored a tardis or dalek.

    They were very difficult to put together, but they persevered. We had presents. Devon and Henry were so sweet and gave him their treasures. He received some Yu-Gi-Oh cards from Grandma and Papa, and Daniel and I got him his own set of Chinese hand exercise balls. I have a pair from when I went to CA to visit my Grandma as a teenager that he loves to borrow.

He opted for brownies instead of cake.

Happy Birthday, Charles! We are so happy to have you in our family!

Thanksgiving

     We hosted Thanksgiving this year and Daniel made sure to pull out all the stops! Daniel had to work but got to come home just in time to greet our first guests. We had almost half of the Bartholomew clan coming so we rearranged the rooms to accommodate. Unfortunately, the room didn't allow us to use our table to its fullest, so we had some diners in the kitchen, but with the window cutout, it didn't feel so much like another room. Everyone was bringing a dish or two so I went a little crazy on appetizers. There were a few allergies to contend with so I took my sister-in-law shopping with me to make sure I got safe food. We went to several shops over 2 days and had a blast. 

    We had a drink bar with Italian sodas, apple cider, and raspberry cranberry juice.

The pickle dip was a huge success.

The kids loved playing with the wax from the baby-bells.

I put my Brother-in-law to work! He hadn't really done it before, but he did a great job.

We had fun storming the castle! It was a fun night.
