Halloween

Halloween was interesting. The downtown usually does a trick-or-treat, but since The Dalles cancelled theirs due to Covid, the residents wanted to flood our little town, so they cancelled too. We did hit a few homes near us, but it was a quiet night. We only had one group of trick-or-treaters. Devon wanted to go as a spa day, but that was too cold to wear outside, so we had a mini spa night before going out.

I love pumpkin! This year i switched it up a little and used noodles to stuff out pumpkin instead of rice.
We picked out our gourds at a little fruit stand at the base of the bridge over the Columbia. It was their last day open for the season and the kids loved the variety.

Getting Settled

Luckily the ward here in Goldendale came out in force to help us move in. They have been praying for members and boy has their faith been answered! Including us, in the past 3 months, they had 6 families move in.

Unpacking is always the hardest! This kitchen is massive though, I still have a few empty drawers.

We ordered a new bed frame for the girls, but it took a long time to arrive.

The downstairs is our fun space. The kids love playing down there.
Here were all dressed up for our first day at church.

Moving Day

Our saga of displacement continues..... Daniel and I had gone down to Goldendale to view properties and put an offer on a house, it was a little small, but on 20 acres and had several other outbuildings. We found out that there was a counteroffer so we backed out. I was unsure what to do, there was a dome house that Daniel was really excited about, but after touring it I was not so excited. Luckily the Lord had a better plan for us. Our realtor knew the family that was moving out of a house and got us in to tour it right away. Daniel Marco poloed me a tour and we put in an offer that night.

We couldn't close until Oct 9 so we had to wait a bit to move in. It was hard on Daniel because he was living in a company house in Roosevelt with a few co-workers and his room wasn't guaranteed. He was raring to move into our new abode.  I went down to sign papers and then went back to pack up our van with all our stuff from my parent's house. I also slammed my foot into the door frame and bruised it real good, so moving was extra fun.

Exploring the new property.

We had to get help unloading all the storage units.  Luckily the ward stepped up and the Martins were there to help too. We ended up having to take 2 trips to get it all here. We have so much junk!

We stayed at a nice Airbnb in the Dalles the night prior to moving in. It was a nice break.

Next comes the hard part, moving in.

Evel Knievel

Daniel told me that there was an Evel Knievel  Museum  in  Topeka, KS, but it was being relocated to Las Vegas in a month. I had to go ...
